Biography

Mr Tim is a Performing Arts teacher based in the ACT. His unique classroom style and entertaining energetic lessons have earned him a reputation as an inspiring teacher and performer.

Trained as a classical pianist at the ANU School Of Music, Mr Tim also gained experience in childrens’ choirs as both an accompanist and conductor.

After completing his music degree, Mr Tim completed a Diploma of Education (secondary) and was then employed as a Performing Arts Specialist to create and implement a program that catered to boys’ education. With the resounding success of this, he continued on developing the program; composing original songs and performance items and creating Professional Development workshops for teachers.

This led to his inspired Extravaganza Program  that takes around 400 children in 4 days to perform an out-of-this-world concert for the local community.

Early in his teaching career, he quickly noticed a lack of engaging song material for the everyday classroom to use. Mr Tim set about writing his own songs for children. His songs quickly gained notice from parents, children and teachers when they were performed at Mr Tim school concerts.

Inspired by the success of this, he put together a nine piece rock band to record an album of sophisticated childrens’ music for kids, parents and teachers to enjoy entitled Bartimus Fum’s Rock Mission, and released his second album ‘I Can Fly’ in 2014.

Recently he was commissioned by the ACT government to develop a school show and produce an EP for healthy eating with Mr Tim and the Food Detective. He was also commissioned by the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) for an education song to be released to teachers and students across Australia.
